San Diego Fall Fun

It's fall in San Diego. Hard to believe with this beautiful beach weather. But with pumpkins and Halloween decorations everywhere, and Christmas items peeking out, we must admit it's fall.

Halloween Events

Halloween is only a week away, so have some fun with these Halloween events in San Diego and Southern California.

Best Scary Attraction in San Diego: I think the best scary attraction is the Scream Zone at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Returning this year is the Zombie Paintball Safari. Of course you won't want to miss the House of Horror, The Haunted Hayride, and the Chamber. These scary haunts are only for the brave souls, ages 10 and up (under 12 requires an adult protector). Prices - $18 - $32.

Best Scary Attraction in Los Angeles: Universal Studios Los Angeles. Spend a terrifying night in Hollywood at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Ages 13 and up only. No costumes allowed. Ticket prices - $52 - $79.

Best Pumpkin Patch: Every year we visit Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, for some old-fashioned family fun. For only $10.50, you can enjoy a tractor hay ride, a walk through the straw maze, and pick your own pumpkin. Of course that means pumpkin carving or pumpkin pies at Halloween!

Best Southern California Halloween Party for Kids: Mickey Mouse knows how to throw a party. Visit Disneyland on select nights for Mickey’s Halloween party. You can also skip the party and just enjoy Disneyland during the Halloween season.

More Fall Events

Each season brings more fun things to do in San Diego. Here are some fall favorites:

Tidepools - Low tides in fall and winter make it easy to walk the beaches at low tide and explore some tidepools. Check out the best dates and times for the low tides at San Diego Tidepools

San Diego Harbor - What's not to like about the beautiful harbor? Stroll along the waterfront, explore some historic ships or take a sunset cruise. All winners. San Diego Harbor

Wine Tasting - Explore on your own or take a Temecula wine country tour. Temecula Wine Tasting

Disneyland Holidays - November 13 2014 - January 6 2015. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years is a special holiday time at Disneyland. See the special fireworks, decorations, holiday parade and more. Disneyland Christmas Holidays
