2011 Firework Displays San DiegoDon’t miss the all-American tradition of 4th of July fireworks. San Diego will continue to have some great fireworks displays for the fourth of July, in spite of the recent legal challenges and concerns about the impact in some fragile habitats. Here are some great bets for Firework Displays in San Diego and Independence Day Celebrations this July 4th.
Annual Big Bay Boom Firework Displays San Diego - Arrive early for a seat at the largest fireworks San Diego show. View from Seaport Village, Coronado Ferry Landing, Spanish Landing, Embarcadero Marina Parks North and South, Cesar Chavez Park, Coronado Tidelands Park, Imperial Beach Pier, Shelter Island and Harbor Island. The fireworks display begins around 9 PM.
Coronado Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks - Watch the Independence Day Parade on July 4th in downtown at 10 AM on Orange Ave. from 1st St. to Churchill Place, enjoy the concert in the park at 4 PM, and the fireworks San Diego at Glorietta Bay at 9 PM over San Diego Bay. La Jolla Fireworks - Enjoy the free concert at Ellen Browning Scripps park at 5 PM, and the firework displays over La Jolla Bay at 9 PM. Make it a day and bring your picnic lunch, but plan to arrive very early to claim your spot at either La Jolla Shores or Ellen Browning Scripps park. Fireworks San Diego County Fair - See some spectacular fireworks in San Diego at 9:30 pm after a day of old-fashioned fun at the San Diego County Fair, held at the Del Mar fairgrounds. Enjoy the exhibits, rides, and deep fried food and for your fourth of July celebration. Arrive early to avoid traffic, or park at one of the satellite parking lots.
Sea World Fireworks Display - Enjoy 4th of July fireworks display, Into the Blue Fireworks, at Seaworld, beginning on July 4th around 9:30 pm. View the fireworks for free from Mission Bay Park, or spend the day at Sea World and enjoy the shows and rides before the fireworks. Other summer nights you can enjoy a fireworks show at SeaWorld at 9:50 pm daily from June 18 - August 29, and Sept. 4-6 (Labor Day weekend).

Free Outdoor Summer ConcertsSummer is a great time to enjoy a free outdoor concert in San Diego, at one of the San Diego beaches or parks. Free Organ Concert in Balboa Park - Monday evenings at 7:30 you can enjoy an international organ festival at Spreckel’s Pavilion in Balboa Park, from June 20 – August 29. In addition, every Sunday from 2 – 3 PM you can listen to a free outdoor organ concert. Balboa Park. La Jolla Concerts by the Sea - Sunday July 10 – September 4 from 2 – 4 pm at Ellen Browning Scripps park at La Jolla Cove. Family friendly concerts on the grass. Hot dog, soda, ice cream and popcorn for sale. Pacific Beach Concerts on the Green - Sunday July 24 – August 14 from 4 – 6:30 pm at Kate Sessions Park. Enjoy the great views and music at this park above Pacific Beach on the south slope of Mount Soledad. Box lunches available. Point Loma Summer Concerts - Friday evening from 5:30 – 8:30 pm July 15 – August 12 at Point Loma Park. Free summer concert series lineup includes Help! The Beatles Tribute Band, Cash’d Out, The Mar Dels, The Mighty Untouchables, and Rockola. Encinitas Sunday Concerts by the Sea - Sunday July 10 – August 21 2011 3 – 5 PM at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas. Bring your beach blankets and chairs.
