Spring San Diego Outdoor ActivitiesSpring is here is San Diego. It is the prettiest time of year, with the flowers blooming and the fresh air after the recent rains. It is a perfect time to enjoy your favorite San Diego outdoor activity. Here are some of our favorite San Diego outdoor activities. Anza Borrego wildflowers are still blooming in the canyons. We enjoy hiking the Palm Canyon trail to the oasis of palms, a great way to admire the wildflowers along the way. Spring in Anza Borrego State Park.
Carlsbad Flower Fields: The spectacular bloom is happening mid April through Mother’s Day (May 8), so if you are in North County, don’t miss a chance to see these flowers up close. Flower Fields in Carlsbad.
Dog Beaches: Dog lovers will enjoy taking their dog to one of the San Diego dog beaches. The Del Mar dog beaches allow unleashed dogs through June 15, so now is a great time to visit. Ocean beach dog beach allows unleashed dogs all year around. San Diego Dog Beaches.
San Diego Hiking: A great spring San Diego outdoor activity is hiking. We enjoy such hikes as the Beach trail at Torrey Pines State Park, The Way Up trail at Elfin Forest, or a hike in Daley Ranch. Hiking Trails in San Diego.
Walk on the Beach: at the San Diego Beaches. Enjoy a walk along the beach at low tide, when the tide is 3 feet MLLW or lower. Best San Diego Beaches for Walking.
Free Organ Concert in Balboa Park: Every Sunday from 2 – 3 PM you can enjoy a free outdoor organ concert at Spreckel’s Pavilion in Balboa Park. Balboa Park.
Botanic Gardens: Enjoy one of the local botanical gardens, such as San Diego Botanic Garden or the Self Realization Fellowship temple meditation grounds, both located in Encinitas, CA. San Diego Botanic Garden.
La Jolla Cove: Join in the fun or watch the Tax Relief swim at La Jolla Cove, on Saturday April 16 at 9 AM. Enjoy the walk along the La Jolla coast walk between the Cove and Children’s pool, and see the La Jolla seals and the spectacular La Jolla coastline. This is always a fun San Diego outdoor activity. Earth Day and Creek to Bay CleanupApril is a great outdoor month, and a nice time to do something special for the planet. Join in the fun at Earth Fair in Balboa Park, on Sunday April 17 from 10 AM – 5 PM. Or join in the Creek to Bay Cleanup on Saturday April 30 from 9 AM to noon.
