Whale Watching in San Diego - California Gray Whales undergo their annual migration from Alaska through San Diego and onto Baja California. During December - April, whale watching is at its best, as the whales migrate close to shore and can be seen from land or see. One of the fun San Diego events. Explore San Diego Tide Pools - February 4 – 9 and February 17 – 22 2012 at various times at low tide. Fall and winter are the best times to explore the San Diego tide pools. It's free and one of the best kids activities in San Diego. San Diego Tide Pools.
Super Bowl 2012 - Watch the XLVI SuperBowl game Sunday February 5 on NBC at ~3:30 PM kickoff. Even if you don't like football, the commercials are worth it. Still can't convince you to watch? It's a great time to shop in the empty stores, or walk the beaches (12:30 - 3:30 will be low tide).

Guided Tidepooling Adventures in La Jolla - Saturday February 4 and Saturday Feb. 18 2012 – Naturalists from Scripps Birch Aquarium will help you discover the wonderful inhabitants of the tidepools in La Jolla, Cal. Hotel del Coronado Historic Walking Tour - Tuesdays and Friday at 10:30 AM, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 PM. 75 minute walking tour of the famous historic Hotel del Coronado, let by docents from the Coronado Historical Association. $15 for adults, children 12 and under free. Balboa Park Free Museum Tuesday for Residents and Military - Some Balboa Park museums are free on 1st - 4th Tuesdays of each month to locals (San Diego Cal. Romantic Beaches in San Diego - Since February is such a romantic month, why not visit one of the lovely beaches. Windansea Beach beach at low tide is great for watching sunsets and capturing some San Diego sunset pictures, especially at low tide. Children's Pool and La Jolla Cove are quite romantic. In north county, try Swamis and the views from the Self Realization Fellowship temple meditation grounds (close at 5 pm).
Kayak at La Jolla Shores - Enjoy a romantic kayaking tour at La Jolla Shores to see the Sea Caves, marine life, and leopard sharks. Several different companies offer kayaking tours, or you can launch your own kayak at the free boat ramp. For more information see La Jolla Kayaking
Romantic Beach Walks - Take some romantic strolls on the beach, especially at low tide. The beach trail at Torrey Pines is one of my favorites this time of year. Good days and times are February 4 - 5 from 1:00 - 3:30 PM and February 18 - 19 from noon to 3:30 PM. Best San Diego Beaches for Walking
