There is something appealing about car racing for kids of all ages. My boss use to rave about K1 Speed in Carlsbad, California, and how much fun it is. We had a group party there and he is right - it is a blast! They offer junior karts for ages 5 - 10 (riders must be are 4 feet to 4 feet nine inches tall). Pre-teen, teens and adults who are 4" 10" or taller ride the standard karts. Although there are multiple centers in California including Anaheim near Disneyland, in San Diego County there is a location in San Diego and in Carlsbad, in north San Diego county.

Operating Hours: Open 7 days a week. Hours may vary but typically Mon-Thurs 12:00 to 10:00 PM. Friday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Saturday 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Private parties may be booked so it is best to call ahead. Closed some holidays.

Ticket Prices: The price for a standard 14 lap race is $27.95 (Junior & Adult). There are special discounts for multiple race packets, such as a speed pass for $64.95.
